Slovenia, twice the size and population of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has more than 1,600 AEDs of defibrillation devices in public places, implying that tens of thousands of citizens have been trained to provide the necessary first aid for heart failure.
We installed 5 in Sarajevo last fall, and according to our data, there are a total of 15 of them, in public, outpatient locations .
Obviously, this is something that we as a society need to work on, both KS and the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We do not have these devices in sufficient numbers in public places, nor do our citizens have the basic knowledge and skills when heart failure occurs, and according to official data, heart failure occurs in over 80% of cases outside the hospital, ie at home, at work, at work. street, etc.
