The knowledge of first aid saves people’s lives, but these facts people unfortunately only become aware of when an accident happens. Statistics show that an ambulance arrives at the scene of the accident at the earliest ten minutes after the call. It is these first minutes after any type of accident that are crucial for saving lives and that is why it is important that each of us knows how to provide first aid and thus increase the chances of survival of the injured person.

To raise the news about the importance of first aid knowledge, World First Aid Day is celebrated every second Saturday in September each year. This year, the emphasis is on children because the goal is to draw public attention to the fact that children can learn to provide first aid, but also on the importance of educating adults to know how to help children in situations where their health and life are endangered.
