The Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton calls on the citizens and institutions in Sarajevo Canton, before the Eid al-Adha, to strictly adhere to the measures from the Order of the Crisis Staff of the Federal Ministry of Health, which are in force since July 25, 2020.
The Order mandates the mandatory wearing of protective masks indoors, with mandatory physical distance of at least one (1) meter. Gathering indoors is allowed up to a maximum of 50 people, and outdoors up to 100 people, with a mandatory distance of at least two (2) meters.
"We appeal to the citizens to refrain from close mutual contacts in terms of shaking hands and kissing, and family gatherings with a large number of people in one place, especially during the upcoming holidays," the Crisis Staff emphasized. They also urge citizens to avoid all major gatherings and even gatherings with relatives during the Eid holidays, as they carry the risk of spreading the infection.
"We especially appeal to people coming from abroad from areas affected by COVID-19 infection, to avoid family gatherings and in case they have any of the symptoms: dry cough, fever, headache, diarrhea, chest pain, stay at home and reverse. see a doctor for further analysis. By protecting ourselves, by minimizing the risk of infection, we also protect the most vulnerable people, the elderly, and the chronically ill. In accordance with the above, the Islamic Community of BiH has sent an appeal to mark this Eid, in compliance with all epidemiological measures, "they point out in the Crisis Staff.
They add that in the previous period we have witnessed a worsening epidemiological situation in the Sarajevo Canton, and one of the causes was the mass arrival of people from abroad in late May and early June 2020.
"We again appeal to the citizens to wear masks in all closed spaces, and in open spaces if it is not possible to keep a distance of 2 meters. We also ask that close contact with friends and relatives be minimized, "the Cantonal Crisis Staff said.
They also remind that the Crisis Staff Order of the Federal Ministry of Health allowed the operation of catering facilities no longer than 23:00, with mandatory compliance with epidemiological measures: distance, disinfection of space, tables and hands, and compliance with the recommendations of the FBiH Institute of Public Health and the Institute of Public Health Sarajevo Canton

In the end, they once again call on the citizens of Sarajevo Canton to be extremely careful, and point out that the only effective way to fight the coronavirus epidemic is strict adherence to prescribed measures, personal responsibility and good cooperation between citizens and health workers. "We appreciate that this is the only way we can all together contribute to overcoming the new epidemiological situation in the Sarajevo Canton," the Crisis Staff said.
