YOUR HANDS CAN SAVE SOMEONE'S LIFE

Significance of early onset of resuscitation
Recognizing sudden cardiac arrest and early initiation of first aid with proper access to the casualty, checking the state of consciousness, pulse and respiration, and urgent resuscitation measures, the number of rescued can rise to almost two-thirds of these people. Therefore, it is recommended that all citizens, especially those who have someone in their environment who could become a victim of sudden cardiac arrest, such as people with angina pectoris or those who have have survived a heart attack.

There are two basic life functions - breathing and heart / blood circulation. We call them animals because they deliver oxygen from our environment to all the cells in the body at every moment of our lives. We can survive without food for weeks, without water for days, and without oxygen in just a few minutes. If there is a complete stoppage of oxygen delivery (cardiac arrest and respiration), the person will die within a few minutes (4-6 minutes). In doing so, the organ most sensitive to complete lack of oxygen dies first, and that is the brain. Brain cells do not have the ability to regenerate like other cells in the human body, so the moment the brain dies, there is virtually no hope that the person will ever return to normal life.

Due to the increasing traffic jams, especially in the city area, emergency medical teams cover an average of about 1 km / min. In the event of a sudden cardiac arrest, the casualty will collapse, will not respond to the call and a light pat on the shoulder, and will not breathe. If a person who happened to be at that moment immediately called the ambulance service, but did nothing to recognize the cardiac arrest and take the necessary resuscitation measures, the chances of survival would have only those people who experienced the delay within the circle of just a few miles away from the nearest ambulance crew. For this reason, it is extremely important that such witnesses immediately proceed to resuscitate the victim until the arrival of the ambulance team.

With chest compressions and artificial respiration, you start the circulation of the injured person and in that way deliver oxygen to the vital organs. Early onset of resuscitation is literally the purchase of precious time for the casualty until the arrival of an ambulance that will continue resuscitation with advanced life support measures. In that case, if the resuscitation is successful, the injured person will not have more serious consequences because his vital organs did not suffer damage due to lack of oxygen.
